About Us

The 19 Drive-In opened on June 8, 1955, just north of Cuba, Missouri along Route 66, offering a classic American moviegoing experience under the open sky. Originally featuring in-car speakers and a capacity for around 250 vehicles, it quickly became a popular destination for both locals and travelers during the golden age of drive-in theaters.

Like many drive-ins across the country, it operated seasonally and provided a unique blend of entertainment and community gathering, where families, couples, and groups could enjoy first-run films from the comfort of their cars. Over the years, the theater adapted to changing times, eventually transitioning to modern projection systems while maintaining its nostalgic appeal.

Though no longer operating today, the 19 Drive-In remains an important part of Cuba’s Route 66 history, representing a time when roadside entertainment was a central part of the American travel experience.
