THE LOST WORLD
A 1925 American silent fantasy/monster/adventure film adapted from Arthur Conan Doyle’s 1912 novel of the same name.
This first screen adaptation of ‘The Lost World’ remains as one of the most influential silent films ever, primarily due to animation specialist Willis O'Brien’s pioneering advances in the field of special effects showcasing the first use stop motion animation to bring creatures to life in a feature length film.
The film version starred Wallace Beery as Professor Challenger, Lloyd Hughes as Journalist Edward Malone, and Bessie Love as Paula White. They and others undertake the voyage and witness dinosaurs and humanoids doing battle in a magnificent landscape.
