About Us
Clanton’s Café has been a Vinita tradition since 1927, making it the oldest continually family-owned restaurant on Route 66. What began with Grant “Sweet Tator” Clanton ringing a pot to call locals to lunch has grown into one of the most beloved stops on the Mother Road. For nearly a century, the Clanton family has served homestyle favorites to neighbors, travelers, and Route 66 fans from around the world.
Known for its famous chicken fried steak, hearty comfort food, and warm small-town hospitality, Clanton’s has been featured in national guides, television shows, and even celebrated on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives. Today, Melissa and Dennis Patrick carry on the family legacy, welcoming guests just as past generations did — with great food, friendly service, and a true slice of Americana.
Pull up a chair, enjoy a classic Route 66 meal, and become part of the story that has been unfolding here for almost 100 years.
