About Us
The John Manson Munro House is a historic residence in Cuba, Missouri, representing the town’s growth during the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Built between 1888 and 1904, the home was owned by John Manson Munro, a local industrialist and civic leader whose business ventures played a role in shaping the community’s development.
The house features Late Victorian architecture with Queen Anne influences, including an asymmetrical design, decorative woodwork, and a wraparound porch. Many of its original details have been preserved, offering a glimpse into the craftsmanship and style of the era.
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2014, the Munro House stands as a lasting symbol of Cuba’s early prosperity and industrial roots. While it is a private residence and not typically open to the public, it remains an important part of the town’s historic landscape and Route 66 story.
